This is my last photo for this project, my 2010 habit. A huge thank you to Molly and Emily who created the amazing habit blog and gave me the opportunity to participate in 2009. It’s an inspiring place to hang out; I implore you to do so.

Walking through the aquarium grounds after dark — light rain, waves on the rocks, sweet smell to the air — a calm came over me. I always know that’s Grammy. I’m safe.

I couldn’t get over the color of the water.

Thank you for the ND filter, Santa. I totally forgot I needed a new one. You really did check your list twice.

We drove with the windows down. I cried three times at other people’s tearful reunions. I should not be allowed near arrivals gates.

We ended up at the Peruvian restaurant in Okinawa City. I had that strange sensation of not knowing where I was on this planet while simultaneously feeling completely at home.

It was completely different today, like everything had shifted into place.

I really want a kitten. This is amusing considering the number of things I need before acquiring pets.

I put my feet in the ocean for the first time since I’ve been here. Massachusetts doesn’t have water this warm in July.

Suddenly, it was 4pm and we’d started lunch at noon. Okinawan soba is my new favorite thing.

The pancakes turned out better than I thought they would. If I do say so. I do. I say so.
